Attorney Megan J. Costello is a born and raised Alaskan with the diverse experience to handle your legal needs.

Ms. Costello attended Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland Oregon, where she completed criminal law internships in both Oregon and Alaska. After law school graduation, she clerked for the Alaska Superior Court in Dillingham. In 2013 Ms. Costello moved to Juneau to work as an attorney for a private law firm. As an associate and then senior associate attorney, Ms. Costello provided legal services to corporations, municipalities, small businesses, and individuals throughout Alaska on a variety of areas, including civil litigation, personal injury defense, constitutional law, contract agreements, real estate issues, employment issues, municipal law issues, medical malpractice defense, and estate planning. Between late 2018 and 2020, Ms. Costello was the attorney for Bartlett Regional Hospital and worked in all areas of health care law as well as on municipal projects for the City and Borough of Juneau. In December 2020 she went back to private practice, and in late 2022 she opened Foghorn Law Office, LLC to provide services to clients throughout Alaska.

Ms. Costello brings broad work and life experience to Foghorn Law Office, LLC. Born in Dillingham and raised in the village of New Stuyahok and Kodiak, she put herself through college and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Environmental Studies while working various jobs. Before attending law school, Ms. Costello had a career with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities as an Environmental Analyst, obtaining permits from regulatory agencies, preparing environmental documents, and conducting construction monitoring on airport and highway projects.

On a personal note, Ms. Costello lives in south Douglas with her daughter, her husband Jack, and various animals. Jack is a tugboater, who pulls barges that provide groceries and other commodities throughout Southeast Alaska. As a family, they appreciate the outdoors and all the adventures that Alaska offers and spend free time boating, hiking, snowboarding, nordic skiing, berry-picking, hunting, and fishing. She is on the board of the Juneau Montessori School, located in Douglas Alaska.
